Saved templates

With Pro you save several complete layouts with your own font, paper size, texts and headings, and choose them per customer or per invoice.

Pro

Saving and using templates needs Pro. You can try them out in the preview on every plan.

A template is a complete layout. On top of everything your house style can do, a template also lets you set:

SettingOptions
FontHelvetica, Roboto or Times.
Paper sizeA4 or Letter (for customers in the US and Canada).
Header textFor example a tagline.
Footer textFor example a reference to your terms and conditions.
Customise invoice textsYour own headings per language, like "Bill" instead of "Invoice" or "Client" instead of "Bill to".

Headings you can change: invoice title, credit note title, invoice number, invoice date, due date, bill to, description, total, amount due, payment and notes. Leave a field empty for the default text.

Creating a template

  1. Go to Settings → Layouts → Templates.
  2. Click New template. A new template starts from your house style.
  3. Give it a name and adjust it. The preview is on the right.
  4. Click Save template.

You can save up to 25 templates.

Using a template

  • Default for new invoices: choose Make default. To go back to your house style, choose Use house style as default.
  • Per customer: on the customer, choose Layout for this customer. Invoices for that customer then get this template.
  • Per invoice: in the editor, pick a template under Layout.

You can also choose the built-in styles (Classic, Modern, Minimal) per customer or per invoice. You can't change those yourself: make your own template from them.

After downgrading

If you stop Pro, your templates are kept, but new invoices use your house style again. Finalised invoices keep their layout. If you take Pro again later, you can use your templates straight away.
