Features
Everything for a correct invoice. Nothing you don't need.
EenFactuurMaken.nl does one thing: invoices. Creating, checking, sending, chasing and keeping them. Without bookkeeping modules you'd never open anyway.
Create
Making an invoice takes less time than making coffee
A tidy editor with a live preview. You see exactly what your customer will see.
Editor with live preview
Lines, discounts and a VAT rate per line, with a preview that updates as you type. Totals and VAT work themselves out, down to the cent.
Customers and products
Save customers, regular products and your hourly rate. Next time you fill them in with one click.
Duplicate
Same job as last month? Duplicate the invoice. The dates move to today by themselves.
Your logo and your colours
On every plan
Upload your logo, pick your colours and switch between three invoice styles: classic, modern and minimal. On the free plan too.
Four languages
Invoices in Dutch, English, German or French, including the right legal wording in that language.
PDF and e-invoice
Every invoice as a neat PDF and as a UBL file (Peppol BIS 3.0 and NLCIUS) that bookkeeping software reads straight in.
Guided start
New
After you sign up we walk you through it step by step: your business details, your invoice style, your first customer and your first invoice.
Invoice without an account
New
Need to invoice just once? Make an invoice on our site and download the PDF. It all happens in your browser and nothing is stored. Try the invoice generator.
Saved brand styles
Pro
Several templates with your own font, header and footer texts, and labels. Handy if you trade under two names.
VAT and rules
VAT in plain language
Choose how VAT works for each invoice. We apply the right rate and add the mandatory wording. Not sure which situation fits you? Ask your accountant or the Dutch tax office; we make sure the invoice matches your choice.
Standard rate
Most supplies in the Netherlands: 21%, 9% or 0%, chosen per line.
on your invoice:
VAT per rate, with totals
Reverse charge
Your customer pays the VAT, for example when you subcontract in construction. Your customer's VAT number is then required.
on your invoice:
Reverse charge (btw verlegd)
Intra-EU goods (ICP)
Goods to a business customer in another EU country. 0% VAT, and we check the VAT number with VIES.
on your invoice:
Intra-Community supply – exempt (Art. 138 VAT Directive)
Services within the EU
Services to a business customer in another EU country. Your customer pays the VAT in their own country.
on your invoice:
Reverse charge (Art. 196 VAT Directive) – btw verlegd
Export (goods)
Goods going to a customer outside the EU. 0% VAT; keep your own proof of export.
on your invoice:
Export outside the EU – zero-rated (Art. 146 VAT Directive)
Services outside the EU
Services to a business customer outside the EU. No Dutch VAT.
on your invoice:
Not subject to Dutch VAT – place of supply outside the Netherlands
KOR (small business scheme)
You take part in the Dutch small business scheme. Then your invoice mentions no VAT at all: no column, no line, no VAT number.
on your invoice:
Exempt from VAT under the Dutch small business scheme (KOR), Art. 25a Dutch VAT Act 1968
Exempt
Your service is exempt from VAT, like certain healthcare or education. Your own exemption ground is added.
on your invoice:
VAT exempt (Art. 11 Dutch VAT Act 1968)
Invoicing in dollars or pounds? Then we also show the VAT in euros on the invoice, at the European Central Bank rate. We fetch it for you.
Your EU customer's VAT number invalid? We check it with VIES before you finalise the invoice, and keep the result as evidence.
What's always on your invoice
As required by art. 35a of the Dutch VAT Act and the Trade Register Act. We check it:
- Your full name and address, and your customer's
- Your KvK (Chamber of Commerce) number and your VAT number
- A unique, sequential invoice number
- The invoice date, and the delivery date if it differs
- A description and quantity of what you supplied
- The unit price excl. VAT and any discount
- The VAT rate and the VAT amount per rate
- Your customer's VAT number for reverse charge or intra-EU goods
- The right wording for reverse charge, KOR, exemption or export
Numbering the way you like it
Pick your own format with year, month and a sequence number. The number is only assigned when you finalise the invoice, so there are never gaps in your series. Want to start at 1 again every year? That works too.
| Format | Becomes |
|---|---|
{YYYY}-{SEQ:4} | 2026-0042 |
F{YY}{MM}-{SEQ:3} | F2610-042 |
{YYYY}.{SEQ} | 2026.42 |
CN-{YYYY}-{SEQ:3} (credit note) | CN-2026-007 |
Credit notes without the headache
A finalised invoice is locked, as it should be. Something wrong? Credit the whole invoice or part of it. The credit note neatly references the original, even if that original wasn't made in EenFactuurMaken.nl. And credit notes never count towards your 5 free invoices.
Get paid
Get your money sooner
Make paying easy for your customer, and keep track of who still owes you.
A QR code to pay
An EPC QR code on the invoice. Your customer scans it with their banking app and the amount, IBAN and invoice number are already filled in.
Payment link
Put your own payment link on the invoice and in the email, for example from your bank or payment provider.
Invoice link with 'viewed'
Every invoice gets its own secure link. You see when your customer first and last opened it. Switch the link off with one click.
Mark as paid
See at a glance what's open, what's overdue and what's come in. Plus a handy overview of your VAT per quarter.
One-click reminder
On every plan
Send a friendly payment reminder with the invoice attached. Is your customer a consumer? Then the final reminder states the statutory collection costs (WIK), as Dutch law requires.
Automatic reminders
Pro
Choose after how many days a reminder goes out. We send them, so you never have to think about it again.
Send and keep
Out the door, and neatly filed
Your invoice goes out by email with the PDF and UBL attached. Does your customer reply? It simply lands in your own inbox.
Send by email
On every plan
Straight from EenFactuurMaken.nl, with the PDF and UBL attached. Your customer replies to your own email address.
From your own domain
Pro
Send from an address like invoices@yourcompany.com. We help you set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC properly, so your email doesn't end up in spam.
Recurring invoices
Pro
A subscription, retainer or fixed monthly rent? Set it up once and the invoice goes out by itself every period.
Keeping invoices
On the free plan we keep invoices for 60 days. The 7-year retention obligation is yours: we warn you twice and you download everything as PDF and UBL before anything disappears. With Pro we keep them for 7 years.
ZIP export
Pro
All invoices for a period as PDF, UBL and a CSV overview in one file. Your accountant will love it.
Ready for Peppol
The UBL file follows Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 and the Dutch NLCIUS rules. Sending directly over the Peppol network isn't something we do yet. More about e-invoicing.
AI and API
Invoice by simply saying what you want
Everything you can do in the app, you can also do through our API. Or let your AI assistant do it via the MCP server. You stay in control: finalising and sending only happen after you approve.
MCP server
Your AI assistant creates drafts, looks up customers and sends reminders. It signs in securely with OAuth or an API key.
REST API, on every plan
For your own integrations, with an OpenAPI spec and API keys you can revoke yourself.
Readable for AI
Every public page also exists as Markdown, plus an llms.txt. So your assistant finds the right answer by itself.
Works with, among others:
- ChatGPT
- Claude
- Cursor
- Gemini CLI
- Copilot in VS Code
- You: Which invoices are still open for customers in Germany?
- Assistant: Two: 2026-0038 to Müller GmbH (€2,400, 9 days overdue) and 2026-0041 to Kaffeehaus Lenz (€640, due Friday). Shall I send Müller a reminder in German?

Your invoices are safe with us
Invoices contain sensitive data, yours and your customers'. We handle it with care.

Servers, database and encrypted backups at Hetzner in Germany. All traffic over HTTPS.
Passkeys and 2FA
Sign in with a passkey, or with two-factor authentication through an authenticator app, with backup codes for when your phone goes missing.

Only you see your data
Every request is checked. Finalised invoices can't be changed, and important actions go into an audit log.

No tracking cookies, no ad scripts and no AI reading along with your invoices. We don't sell anything on.
Fair is fair
What we deliberately don't do
So EenFactuurMaken.nl stays simple and cheap. No endless menus, just invoices that are right.
- No bookkeeping
No ledger and no VAT return. That's what your accountant or bookkeeping software is for; we hand over everything neatly.
- No bank connection
You mark payments yourself, or your customer pays with the QR code or your payment link.
- No quotes or time tracking
Just invoices. But really good ones.
- No AI making up text
Whatever is on your invoice, you entered or approved it.
Enough reading. Time to start invoicing.
