How it works

From sign-up to paid in three steps

  1. Tell us who you are

After you sign up, we walk through your business details, logo and colours together, and your first customer if you like. Fill it in once and it's on every invoice.

    New: guided setup

  2. Make your invoice

Pick a customer, type your lines and see a live preview. Missing something that's required? You'll hear about it before you send, not after.

  3. Send it and get paid

By email, with the PDF and e-invoice attached. Your customer scans the QR code with their banking app and that's it. You even see when the invoice was opened.

VAT, sorted

Dutch rules? Already built in.

The Dutch tax office is strict about what has to be on an invoice. EenFactuurMaken.nl knows the rules and checks your invoice before you finalise it. In plain English:

  • Reverse charge

Working as a subcontractor, in construction for example? Then your customer pays the VAT. We charge 0% and ask for your customer's VAT number.

on your invoice: Reverse charge (btw verlegd)
  • KOR

Using the small business scheme (KOR)? Then there's no VAT anywhere on your invoice. No column, no line, no VAT number.

on your invoice: Exempt from VAT under the Dutch small business scheme (KOR), Art. 25a Dutch VAT Act 1968
  • Intra-EU customers

Customer with a business elsewhere in the EU? We check their VAT number live with VIES and keep that proof with the invoice.

on your invoice: Intra-Community supply – exempt (Art. 138 VAT Directive)
  • Export

Customer outside the EU? No Dutch VAT. Invoicing in dollars or pounds? Then we use the ECB exchange rate.

on your invoice: Export outside the EU – zero-rated (Art. 146 VAT Directive)
  • Credit note

Made a mistake? You can't change a finalised invoice, and you're not allowed to. Two clicks give you a credit note that refers to the original.

  • Sequential numbering

2026-0041, 2026-0042, 2026-0043. Choose your own format, never a gap. Credit notes get their own series.

  • Reminders and WIK

A private customer who doesn't pay? The final reminder mentions the statutory collection costs (WIK) and works out the amount for you.

  • Exempt

Healthcare, teaching or another exempt service? Then your own exemption basis goes on the invoice.

on your invoice: VAT exempt (art. 11 Wet OB 1968)

Every VAT situation explained

Getting paid

Make paying as easy as possible for your customer. And see straight away who still owes you.

  • A QR code to pay

Your customer scans the EPC QR code with their banking app. Amount, IBAN and invoice number are already filled in.

  • Know it's been seen

Every invoice has its own link. When your customer opens it, you see it. No more "never got it".

  • Your own payment link

Put the link from your bank or payment provider on the invoice and in the email.

Good question

Frequently asked questions

Do my invoices meet the Dutch tax office's requirements?

We check the mandatory details from the Dutch VAT Act, such as your VAT number, a sequential invoice number, the date, the VAT per rate and the right wording for reverse charge or an exemption. If something is missing, you see it before you finalise the invoice. You stay responsible for the content, but the form is right.

Can I make invoices without VAT?

Yes. Choose reverse charge, intra-EU supply, export, the small business scheme (KOR) or exempt. We then charge 0% and add the legally required note to the invoice.

What if I make a mistake in an invoice I already sent?

You can't change a finalised invoice, and you're not allowed to. You create a credit note that refers to the original invoice, and then a new invoice. That takes two clicks.

Can I make an invoice without an account?

Yes. With the free invoice generator you make an invoice with your logo and colours and download the PDF. Everything happens in your own browser: we store nothing. Want to keep, send or chase invoices? Then a free account comes in handy.

Where is my data stored?

On Hetzner servers in Germany. We use no tracking cookies and never sell anything on. Read more on the security page.
