# Create your account

How to create a EenFactuurMaken.nl account, confirm your email address, sign in and secure your account with two-factor authentication or a passkey.

An account is free and has no strings attached. All you need is an email address and a password.

1. Go to [Sign up](https://eenfactuurmaken.nl/en/signup).
2. Enter your name, email address and a password.
3. You'll get an email with a confirmation link. Click it to confirm your email address. The link is valid for 24 hours.

You can sign in once your address is confirmed. No email? Check your spam folder, or request a new link on the sign-in page. More tips in [Troubleshooting](https://eenfactuurmaken.nl/en/docs/troubleshooting#no-verification-email).

### Password requirements

- At least 12 characters. A sentence of a few words works well and is easy to remember.
- We check (anonymously) whether your password appears in known data breaches, using Have I Been Pwned. If it does, we ask you to choose another one. Your password itself never leaves our server.

Sign in on [the sign-in page](https://eenfactuurmaken.nl/en/login) with your email address and password, or with a passkey. A session stays valid for 14 days. For sensitive actions, such as changing your IBAN or password, we ask you to sign in again if your last sign-in was more than 15 minutes ago.

Forgot your password? Use [Forgot password](https://eenfactuurmaken.nl/en/forgot-password). You'll get a link to set a new one.

## Secure your account

Your invoices contain your customers' details and your bank account. So turn on two-factor authentication under **Settings → Security**:

- a code from an authenticator app (such as 1Password, Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator),
- with 10 backup codes in case you lose your phone,
- or a passkey (fingerprint, face or security key).

See [2FA and passkeys](https://eenfactuurmaken.nl/en/docs/security/two-factor).

## After signing up

After your first sign-in, the [welcome guide](https://eenfactuurmaken.nl/en/docs/getting-started/onboarding) starts. It helps you set up your business details, house style and first customer in a few minutes.
